Aeration Systems

Aeration is an energy-demanding process. Almost half of all energy used in a typical wastewater treatment plant is used to provide oxygen to the microorganisms in the aeration basins. Ambient air is the usual source of oxygen. The air is either mechanically mixed into the wastewater using surface aerators or diffused into the wastewater by bubbling air under pressure into the bottom of the aeration basin. The goal in aeration system is reducing energy cost, not reducing energy consumption. Second is safety that includes safety procedures, safety features and training the operators in handling safety procedures (Jenkins, 2014).

At Pure Elements, we believe in the following effective aeration systems:
  • Energy Cost Reduction ─ decrease in energy cost for the aeration process in wastewater and water treatment plants is a valuable service for stakeholders
  • Treatment Performance ─ improved process performance to properly function and stability to provide a substantial energy for applications
  • Improved Equipment Life ─ protection functions such as monitoring the equipment’s operation and performance

We also value the importance of operator involvement in successful aeration systems procedures. We acknowledge their needs and expertise.
